| PDP evolving workable plan for HR development: Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 28: Describing unemployment as the biggest challenge before the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti, today said the PDP is evolving a workable plan to ensure proper development of human resource and harness the immense potential of our youth for their own growth and that of the state. Addressing a well attended public meeting in Wachi of Shopian district today she said Omar Abdullah govt has miserably failed in addressing the development issues including unemployment. She said Omar Abdullah, as Chief Minister, received unprecedented support from the Centre even while his government proved to be a disaster on governance, development and human rights front. "But he never tried to leverage his clout and influence for the benefit of the state and instead multiplied the problems as a result of his ineptitude, inefficiency and arrogance of style," said Mehbooba. Mehbooba said the government is now trying to undo the damage it has caused during last five and a half years through its reckless and desperate measures but it is still not waking up to the real issues facing the people. She said the ruling government has pushed the youth to wall by subverting the process of recruitment and it has once again reverted to its traditional backdoor and corrupt practices. "Appointments are being made without norms and this government is snatching rights of the youth who deserve engagement on the basis of merit. The benefits and favours are being given to their favourites only," she said Mehbooba said J&K is going through a difficult phase and the present government instead of making a positive impact on the ground, has held everything hostage to its inefficiency and ineptness to deliver. With the result, she said, the common man is suffering for basic amenities like power, water, ration etc."Ration depots are running dry in most parts of the Valley and the people have been left on their own mercy by the ruling coalition," Mehbooba said Mehbooba said there is a crisis of payment in the state and even bills under NRGEA are not paid to the daily earners. She said fruit industry being the backbone of our economy is facing immense problems and the government has failed in its duty in enforcing quality control and address its other concerns. |
