| HC directs store procurement deptt not to terminate casual employees | | | JAMMU, June 28 (JNF): High Court today directed Chief Engineer/Director Store Procurement Department not to terminate services of causal class-IV employees working in the store procurement department from the year 2005.Vacation Judge Justice J.R.Kotwal directed Chief Engineer/Director Store Procurement Department that till next date of hearing, the 12 petitoners shall not be terminated if they are continuing as till date.
This direction has been passed in a petition filed by Sunil Kumar and 11others who are working as causal class-IV employees in Store Procurement Department from the year 2005 and are performing their duties for the last more than seven years and seeking regularization.
In the petition, it has been alleged that despite regularizing the petitioners, respondents are now taking steps to terminate the services of the petitioner and the petitioner challenging the same. Justice JR Kotwal after hearing Sr. Adv SS Lehar with Advocate Aditya Sharma appearing for the petitioners, issued notice to Commissioner/Secretary R&B, Chief Engineer/Director Store Procurement Dept and Deputy Director Store Procurement Dept returnable within four weeks. In the meanwhile Court directed respondents subject to file objections and till next date not to terminate the petitioners if they are continuing as till date. |
