| Kathua, June 28: Reiterating their demand for the formation of a separate Hill District, the residents of Mahanpur, Basohali, Bani and Billawar urged the State Government to take the plight of the hilly area of district Kathua on priority. While speaking to the media persons, locals namely Ramesh Chander, Akhtar Ali, Prem lal, expressed their concerns over the demand and said it is the need of the hour to comprise the Billawar, Basohli and Bani as a separate hill district in order to keep the upliftment and development of the hilly areas of the Kathua in real sense. They said that the state Govrenment is totally failed for being taken long pending demand for the formation of separate District Hill into the back burner despite every politician and successive state governments have given full assurances. "If this hilly part of the Kathua is given district status then there is no doubt that the area will be developed as top most tourist area and every facilities be given easily to the people, speakers added. Akhtar said the District status is a genuine right for Billawar-Bani and Basohali because the District administration is totally out of reach and accessible for the residents due to which the urges and demands of the people are not addressed easily. |
