SRINAGAR, July 7: Organised by the Kashmir wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), the women's football tournament shall start at Government College for Women (GCW) MA Road, here tomorrow.
A good number of teams representing host GCW MA Road, GCW Nawakadal, Mallinson Girls High School, Government High School Chanpora, Srinagar, Green Valley High School, New Convent High School Gogjibagh and Government High School, Kothibagh have been enrolled for this knock-out competition, a handout issued here today informed.
Iran to field young team at 2014 FIBA Asia Cup
Tehran, July 7: Iran will field a young team at the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup to be held in Wuhan, China from July 11-19.
"We don`t have some of our key players in the competition but it`s a good opportunity to field the new players to earn experience," Iran coach Memi Becirovic was quoted as saying by the Tehran Times Monday.
Iran, who have been drawn in Pool A along with host China, India, Indonesia and Japan, will open their campaign against Japan July 11. Pool B consists of Chinese Taipei, Jordan, the Philippines and Singapore. Becirovic said his team will travel to Poland, Slovenia and Estonia after the Asian Cup to prepare for the FIBA World Cup. |
