| Cong MLC Jugal distributes cheques to BPL beneficiaries | | | Early Times Report
Katra, July 7: To listen to the problems of the down trodden people of Reasi district, senior Congress leader and the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Jugal Kishore Sharma today distributed cheques worth Rs 15000/- each to 27 Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in a function organized at Chintamani Complex Katra.
At the onset of function, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma gave a patient hearing to the problems of the people and assured for early redressal of their genuine demands. Thereafter the MLC distributed cheques worth Rs 4.05 lakh out of his Constituency Development Funds (CDF) scheme among Below Poverty Line beneficiaries for the due repairs of their houses. He asked the beneficiaries to use funds judiciously for construction of pacca houses.
During the occasion he also listened to the issues raised by the gathering and series of delegations which apprised the Congress MLC about their demands and grievances related to scarcity of drinking water and irregular supply of power supply.
During the occasion held in collaboration Municipal Committee (MC) Katra, the former minister and Congress MLC also impressed upon the officers to maintain transparency in distribution of central and state financial assistance among the needy besides ensuring its timely disbursement among them.
