| Govt's report card reflects total failure | | | Sandeep Bhat
Srinagar, July 7: The five and half year old coalition led by `young and energetic chief minister' Omar Abdullah failed to achieve the targets set by its own coalition government. This is evident from the facts furnished by Economic Survey report 2013-14 and other sources. The NC led coalition government failed almost on all fronts. As per the figures, the government was supposed to, construct 13 middle school buildings in 2012-13 but only six were completed. Of 32 additional class rooms, examination halls targeted for the same period, only 17 were achieved. The health sector has a similar story to tell. Of 12 targeted buildings for sub-centers only two were completed. Eight PHC quarters had to be built but only one quarter was constructed out of the set target. Things are not that rosy in the department of rural development. Of he targeted 34 community centres only 5 halls were constructed in the year 2012-13. The department could construct only 1652 drains. It was supposed to construct 2005. Similarly of the targeted 201road links only 139 were constructed. Of 195 protection walls only 127 were completed.
