POONCH, Dec 16: To provide exposure to young boys and girls to the world of sports, the State Sports Council today organised a 10-day special coaching camp in different disciplines at Sports Stadium, here. As per the reports reaching here, the camp was declared open by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), JS Johar, who was chief guest. He interacted with the young boys and girls attending to the coaching sessions in the events of boxing, football, hockey, volleyball, kabaddi and weightlifting. Earlier, the technical team of the State Sports Council short listed the best stuff for advance coaching from and among 450 players. In total, 110 boys and girls have been selected for the 10-day camp in football (24), hockey (24), volleyball (16), kabaddi (15), weightlifting (15) and boxing (15). Meanwhile, camp incharge and senior weightlifting coach, Ashok Singh told reporters that these selected campers shall be imparted coaching by a team of qualified individuals including, Nirdoah Kumar (volleyball), Mustaq (boxing), Sat Pal Singh (football) and Dalvinder Singh (hockey). Prominent among those present in the inaugural function were former Sports Officer of the Sports Council, Krishal Lal Sharma and retired SAI hockey coach, Sham Lal. |
