| ERA organizes workshop on Gender Sensitive Project Management & Monitoring | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16 : Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (J&KERA) today organized a daylong workshop on Gender Sensitive Project Management and Monitoring at Hotel Fortune Riviera Jammu. The workshop was organized as part of the capacity-building component of Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development investment Program (JKUSDIP) with among staff of ERA, consultants and line departments in order to include the Gender dimensions in all our projects and activities. Vinod Sharma Director Safeguards Jammu and Kashmir ERA while welcoming the participants briefed about the need of including the Gender dimensions in infrastructure project and also shared the efforts under taken by ERA to meet this goal. Chief Executive Officer, J&K ERA Thaseen Mustafa focused on need of Gender-responsive urban planning that can contribute to gender equality and women's empowerment. Thaseen stressed on the need for projecting infrastructure development as tool as gender equity and taking initiative for gender response planning and implementation. Director Finance Shagufta Qazi while delivering the key note address stressed upon the need for Institutional capacity to plan, manage, implement, monitor, and evaluate gender inclusive under development projects. During the day long workshop, Prabhjot R Khan and Aziz ur Rehman Gender Officers from Asian Development Bank (ADB) presented through power point slides the various aspects of the Gender Sensitive Project Management and Monitoring. Workshop also included brainstorming Session in which participants had interaction with the experts regarding various issues pertaining to Gender. |
