Patwari in Vigilance net | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 16: The Vigilance Organization today caught red handed a revenue official while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from a complainant. The accused Patwari of Dangam area of South Kashmir's Shopian district has been identified as one Abdul Hai Lone, a resident of Nowgam, Shopian. The complainant Farooq Ahmad Wani of Aliyalpora, Shopian lodged a written complaint with Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir, stating therein that he has asked Patwari Halqa Dangam Shopian to mutate (family settlement) a chunk of orchard land measuring 13 kanal and 6 marlas situated at Kuchdoora, Shopian in his favour. The said Patwari in turn demanded bribe of Rs. 5000 from the complainant for the purpose. Since the complainant was against paying of bribe and has arranged Rs. 5000 to be paid to accused today. On receipt of the complaint, Case FIR number 43/2014 P/S VOK was registered and investigation taken up. The trap team headed by Dy. S.P Mushtaq Ahmad under the supervision of SSP Vigilance Altaf Ahmad Shah laid a successful trap in which Patwari Halqa Dangam Shopian was caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs 5000as bribe from the complainant. The tainted money was recovered from the possession of the accused Patwari. The accused was arrested on spot. The entire proceedings were conducted in presence of an independent witness. |
