Governor reviews shrine board projects | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir governor and chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board NN Vohra reviewed the implementation of various ongoing development projects of the board while chairing a meeting at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Briefing the gathering about the new track between Katra and Adhkuwari, MK Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of the board, said a substantial stretch of the track had been tiled and side drains and retaining wall structures had been made. Work on the construction of various wayside facilities such as eating and drinking water points, toilet blocks was under progress, Bhandari said. The Governor stressed the need to expeditiously complete all remaining works so that the track which aimed at providing pilgrims an easy gradient and convenient walking path could be commissioned soon. The Governor directed Bhandari to draw up a comprehensive plan for enlarging facilities for the pilgrims in the Bhairon temple area with a view to meeting the emerging requirements of the pilgrims, particularly after the commissioning of the under construction passenger ropeway which would provide rapid pilgrim movement between the shrine and Bhairon temple. Vohra also discussed various infrastructure-related issues for enlarging the facilities for pilgrims and was also informed about the efforts being taken to undertake large-scale plantations along the tracks and in Trikuta hills. |
