High level meeting reviews Eid-ul-Milad arrangements | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 25: A high level meeting today reviewed the arrangements for the celebrations of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi, birthday of Prophet Muhammad at Hazratbal shrine, on the bank of Dal Lake on January 4. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Rohit Kansal while reviewing the arrangements being made by the administration here, stressed upon the officers for providing basic facilities to the devotees including transport, un-interrupted power and drinking water supply, sanitation, medical facilities and other basic amenities. Asking the Traffic Department to streamline the traffic arrangements to facilitate the devotees and ensure better transport facilities, Mr Kansal also directed Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure sanitation in and around the Hazratbal shrine, which houses the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad. (SAW) He stressed upon Chief Engineer, Electric Maintenance, Kashmir for installing diesel generator sets to ensure power back up. He also directed the Chief Engineer, PHE for installing additional water taps in Shrine. The Divisional Commissioner also directed upon the Health authorities for deployment of additional doctors and paramedical staff to facilitate the devotees for providing the medical facilities. He directed the Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar for establishing two temporary medical camps in Dargah. The Divisional Commissioner enjoined upon the authorities of CA&PD for providing sufficient quota of Rice, atta and sugar so that the people do not suffer. |
