KPs demand early re-construction of gutted 'Jawala Ji shrine': PNBMT | Trust makes Shrines & Temples Bill focus of 'Chetna Divas' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25: In a series of meetings organized by the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) at Hazuri Bagh and other members of community have expressed great shock and anguish at the loss of the hoary shrine of Mata Jawalaji and demanded early re-construction of gutted 'Jawala Ji shrine' According to press statement issued today, a large gathering assembled in connection with the forthcoming Chetna Divas scheduled on December 27, at Swami Kumarji Ashram, Muthi Camp under chairmanship of M K Raina, President Jawalaji Samiti Khrew and expressed their serious concerns over huge damage to the holy shrine in recent fire. It said that gathering lamented the apathy of the government towards the loss of this sacred shrine at Khrew, whereas the same government was alert at the similar of the shrines of other community and got them rebuilt in their previous shape in the shortest possible time. Swami Kumarji demanded that the holy shrine should be rebuilt and restored before the next annual function at the Jawaliji on Haara Tsodah, July next year. Speakers at the meeting B L Saraf, Brij Lal Bhat, Subash Chatta, Virji Khar, Vyasji, Shadi Lal Koul, and others raised the issue of the 'Shrines and Temples' and underlined that it needs to be brought under the regular protection of legislative instrument of the Shrines bill. Among those present were M K Jalali, T N Raina, Shiban Saraf, B L Bhat, B L Zar, Dr A N Pandita, president Trust. Speaking on behalf of the trust, chief spokesperson Dr R L Bhat told the public that since 2011, when the community entrusted the PNBMT to spearhead the struggle for the enactment of the Shrines bill, the Trust had made Shrines and Temples Bill the focus of the Chetna Divas. Accordingly, this year's Chetna Divas would be highlighting the community demand for the speedy enactment of the above said Bill, along with the other demands. Another meeting held by the trust at Hazuri Bagh, presided over by Makhan Lal Kaw, expressed full support to the PNBMT in pursing the shrines bill. A similar meeting was held at Pamposh Colony Janipur also demanded immediate reconstruction of holy shrine in valley. The meeting presided over by Jaikishan Khar whereas in another meeting held at Gita Bhavan, Muthi under leadership of community leader H N Pandita, the members also expressed their dismay over the shrines of community are getting decimated and offered support to Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust in the struggle for the enactment of the shrines bill. |
