JAMMU, Dec 25: Despite defeat in the recent assembly elections, ex-minister and 2-time Congress MLA Raman Bhalla has vowed to continue working for the development of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
"My doors are always open not only for those who voted in my favour but also for those, who voted against me", he said, adding that he will leave no stone unturned to redress the plight of the people.
"I have a dream of making a modern and progressive Gandhi Nagar constituency and to cherish this dream I will continue to work despite defeat in the recent assembly elections", Bhalla said.
"The rhythm of development will continue in Gandhi Nagar constituency and all the issues related to the people will be redressed on priority basis after consultation from the concerned authorities", he asserted.
He said this while addressing a gathering of party workers and supporters at Kunjwani here today.
Bhalla expressed gratitude to those who supported him from the start of the campaigning to the polling booth.
"Congress believes in peace, prosperity, secularism, inclusiveness, communal harmony and justice for all", he said, adding that "My doors are always open for the people".
He stated that the Congress party has given a new paradigm of development and governance to the state which was characterized by all-round and equitable development, efficiency, transparency and people-friendly image, adding that the fruits of development were successfully percolated equitably and judiciously to all the regions of the state.
Bhalla added that the Congress has shown the way in the execution of mega projects like roads, hydro-power, colleges, schools and hospitals, in a time bound manner, in addition to providing efficient, credible and pro-people governance to the state.
The programmes and policies of the Congress party are people friendly and millions of poor people have availed benefits of various schemes launched by Congress party, he said.
Congress needs not to prove its secular, democratic and people-friendly credentials as this party has always proved its mettle and characteristic of being the only party in the state which worked for the people beyond imagination.
"Equal distribution of resources and development in all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir is the motto of Congress. We will form the next government in the state", he claimed.
