ASHA, NDYC jointly organize seminar on 'Conservation of Bio-diversity' | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Jan 14: National Development Youth Club (NDYC) in coordination with Ayurvedic Society for Health Awareness (ASHA) organized a seminar on Conservation of Bio diversity in the premises of NDYC Environment Institute of Education at Jaran Wali Gali Poonch on Wednesday. The seminar as a part of National Environment Awareness Campaign of Ministry of Environment and Forest Government of India and the program was sponsored by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Jammu and Kashmir. The participant Wajid Hussain Shah highlighted the aims and purpose of the program and methods to conserve the biodiversity in detail. Mumtaiz Ahamed, Teacher also spoke on the topic besides students. The Sarpanch of the panchyat also spoke on the topic. While, vice President ASHA Nusrat Begum explained in detail about conservation and promotion of local medicinal plants and medical benefits of various herbs locally available and stressed upon locals to demonstrate and plant them in the lawns of their houses. President of NDYC highlighted in detail how to conserve the biodiversity and to keep the environment clean and green. Also spoke in detail about afforestation and stressed upon the need to plant more and more trees and also medicinal herbs, how to prepare Biodiversity Registers in school and plantations of local varieties of vegetables and medicinal plants. Mohd Qureshi, Chairperson of the institute thanked the organization for organizing the program and appealed to organize more such programs in the institute. The program highly benefited and was appreciated by the participants. The program culminated with an awareness rally. |
