Sagar contradicts Kamal over support to PDP | Says NC to provide outside support | | Javaid Naikoo Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 14: A day after National Conference offered support to PDP to form Government with them, a statement issued today by Ali Muhammad Sagar said the party will provide outside support. Contradicting the statement of Additional General secretary of National Conference (NC) Dr Mustafa Kamal who while talking to Early Times on Tuesday said that 'they (NC) asked People's Democratic Party (PDP) to form government with them, Sagar today said that 'the party's offer to form the government for PDP was an offer of outside support and NC was not interested in being a part of such a government. Minutes after PDP through its Chief Spokesman rejected offer of NC to form government with them, Sagar said Naeem Akhtar was misinformed. "Unlike PDP his party has put its ideology in front of people and believes that special status of the state is above the petty gains of power," he said. he added "If we were interested in being part of a government in J&K, we could have aligned with the BJP as it was an option readily available to NC after the election results came out. But unlike PDP, we are guided by principles and an ideology that is rooted in the aspirations and sentiments of our people. PDP wants to come to power at any cost, even if that means contradicting everything PDP leaders said during the campaign for the elections." Pertinently statement of Sagar is contrary to what Mustafa Kamal said on the same issue and expressed willingness of his party leadership to form government with PDP and said that "It is not something new we have done, we again ask PDP to come forward and form government with us, since we all see people across the state are suffering due to lack of governance, chaos and confusion is everywhere, so we decided today that our working president would write a letter to governor in this regard and offer our unconditional support to PDP.' Alleging PDP of shaking hands with BJP for petty gains of power, Sagar said that they (NC) understand that the PDP clearly owes a debt to the BJP as it was the BJP that funded and supported the creation of the PDP with a view to divide people of Kashmir and fragment the representative voice of the state and added that BJP in turn owns promoter's equity in the PDP for having funded the creation of PDP. |
