JAMMU, Feb 9: Thirty two IPS and 167 KAS officers have been served notices by the state home department and GAD for not submitting their APRs (annual property reports) for 2014. The GAD had on February 6 last informed the governor that 270 officers of the state government of IAS, IPS, IFS and KAS cadres had not filed their returns, which were due to be filed by January 31. These officers were asked to submit their APRs by February 12, failing which action would be initiated against them. The GAD released the list of 167 KAS officers, including special secretaries, MDs, SDMs and deputy commissioners, who were defaulters in not furnishing their returns, according to official sources. Sources said IPS and KAS officers, besides other senior officers, were required to submit their APRs by the end of every year. In these APRs, they are to disclose the property possessed by them and their close relatives (family members). Notices to the defaulting police officers were issued through the state police head. While some of them submitted their APRs after receiving the notices, 32 officers were yet to submit their APRs. The state home department had now submitted them notices, the sources informed. The defaulting police officers included ADGP S M Sahai, four IGPs, 11 DIGs, eight SSPs, district SPs of Udhampur, Kathua, Pulwama, Anantnag and Ganderbal, SDPO, Bakshi Nagar, two other SDPOs, sources said. |
