BJP's Sinha wants Jammu to keep quiet
3/17/2018 7:25:02 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, Mar 16: Pro-Kashmir BJP's former Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha and his team members, including Kapil Kak, Sudeendera Kulkarni, Habibullah, Bharat Bushan and Shishoba Barve, have released their latest report on J&K. It is lop-sided and biased against Jammu.
The report gives its unqualified support to those fighting against India and condemns those who oppose what is happening in Kashmir. The report tells that the developing situation in the marginalized and under-severe threat Jammu has alarmed and disturbed Sinha and Co. It has virtually dismissed the majority community in Jammu as communal and anti-Kashmir and anti-Muslim and suggested that the developing situation in Jammu poses a live threat to the communal harmony in the state.
The report has said that "there is perception among the local citizens that in the coming days the situation in Jammu was likely to become difficult to handle". "The growing disappointment with the state government and increasing communal divide could make the situation in Jammu quite provocative. The Kashmir Valley has been on the boil off and on but the Jammu region becoming politically volatile is a new phenomenon".
So much so, Sinha and Co has not spared even the J&K High court. It has said that the Judges of High Court on the Jammu Bench and Srinagar Bench are a divided lot and they give ruling which contradict each other.
The religious divide in the state has clearly been deepened in recent years as communalism has taken deep roots. People point out that even the Courts in Jammu and Kashmir are divided - the two benches in Jammu and Srinagar gave differing rulings on unfurling of the state flag, for example. This has caused fissures in the state's social stability," the report has said.
Underline "the Kashmir Valley has been on the boil off and on but the Jammu region becoming politically volatile is a new phenomenon". What does this speak and indicate? It indicates that Sinha & Co is feeling upset over what they called "Jammu region becoming politically volatile". These words speak for themselves and need no further elucidation. Suffice to say that Sinha and members of his pro-Kashmir group want the people of Jammu to remain dormant and devoid of all political activities so that the separatists won and the integrationists lost.
What they have said must disturb the nationalists. That Sinha has been putting forth unsettling suggestions since months now and that the BJP has not taken any action against him has created serious doubts in the minds of the people of Jammu and Ladakh about the real intentions of the BJP-led NDA government as far as its stand on Jammu & Kashmir is concerned. The BJp needs to make its stand clear on what Sinha and his team have said about Jammu.
