Jammu, Mar 27: The Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof R D Sharma who is also known for his dictatorial attitude on Tuesday, backtracked his own words made with agitating students over suspension of four comrades.
Sources informed Early Times, the University Administration in very revengeful manner had targeted selective students.
"In the campus, the students have no say, but some visionary students dared the dictates of the administration, particularly of Vice Chancellor, who apparently for the sake of extension awarded to recently by State Government has the put the cause of students from Jammu region under the carpets.
The suspended students were protesting for some services for their community. A protest by students over Wi-Fi facility and quality food in hostels turned ugly on Thursday which turned leading into an argument between the Dean Students Welfare and the students. The students demand action against the DSW.
The Vice Chancellor, yesterday had claimed that the all the genuine demands of the students would be addressed on Tuesday, but the skipped to meet the agitating students today.
"We were expecting the VC will meet us, we held a peaceful protest, but VC's assurance to meet us like a Jumla, he did not respect of his words", the agitating students, and added that they were not fighting for vested interests, 'extension' the struggle will continue unless their demands are met.
