Nowshera agitation exposes BJP's 'duplicity'
Ravinder Raina goes missing , people seek his whereabouts on WhatsApp group

Early Times Report

RAJOURI, Mar 27: The ruling BJP has been facing embarrassing situation in Kalakote, Sunderbani and Nowshera tehsils as their elected representatives failed to satisfy the people about their contribution in their ongoing struggle for Additional ADDC (ADDC) posts (for Nowshera) and ADC posts for Kalakot and Sunderbani.
On Monday, Abdul Ghani Kohli, MLA, Kalakot (BJP) and Minister for Animals, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, faced an ugly situation in Kalakot market when he reached there to inaugurate the office of ADC. People present there greeted him with black flags and raised slogans against him.
People also celebrated their victory by taking out a 'Vijay rally' which was also joined by former MLAs Ashok Kumar former (Congress) and Th. Rashpal Singh (NC).
Before Kohli could reach the office of ADC for inauguration, the office was inaugurated by Randhir Singh, president Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Vijay Suri, Beopar Mandal president under whose command people continued their struggle.
Khalid Hussain, SDM, who was given charge of ADC under government order till a regular arrangement was not made, was greeted and accompanied by these leaders to occupy the chair of ADC.
"Our MLA-cum-minister faced embarrassing situation as he was involved in bringing Kalakot under Kotranka ADC (on rotational basis) instead joining the people who were struggling for separate ADC post" said Ranbir Singh and added the post of ADC was the victory of the people and not of the 'Mantri Ji'.
On the other hand Ravinder Raina, MLA (BJP), Nowshera is also facing the same criticism from the people of his constituency.
People alleged that on one hand Raina promised them to support their fight for district status and that he will put pressure on the government. "But our MLA failed to fulfil the promises made to us and went into hiding," said JAC members.
Since Monday, a message on WhatsApp group is going viral in which an appeal was made to the people to trace their MLA, Ravinder Raina who was last heard while talking about his resignation in favour of people's struggle. Since then he remained missing even after the people had to face lathi charge and tear gas shelling.
In an attempt to justify the police action on innocent people and to appease the PDP leadership, BJP's high command reportedly pressurized Vibodh Gupta, MLC to withdraw his statement on Sunday in which he had condemned the use of force on peaceful protesters at Nowshera and had demanded probe into the incident.
