NSF holds Protest demonstration against Dir Vigilance for keeping mum over irregularities, nepotism in JU
3/27/2018 10:29:48 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 27: It has been eleven months now when the National Secular Forum (NSF) filed complaint against financial irregularities, abuse of official position and nepotism in University of Jammu filed in office of Director Vigilance J&K, National Secular Forum today held strong protest demonstration against Vigilance department.
Addressing the gathering here today, Dr Vikas Sharma State President National Secular Forum said that in the complaint it had argued that criminal nexus operating in the University of Jammu indulging in all sort of financial irregularities, abuse of official position, nepotism in connivance with few officials in the O/o Financial Advisor (Universities) and Chancellor Secretariat who are keeping FA (Universities) and the octogenarian Chancellor in dark.
He had claimed in the complaint that apart from financial irregularities reaching its high during the tenure of present VC, the incumbent office bearers as a modus operandi makes Financial Advisor (Universities) and the octogenarian Chancellor to fall in their line in the University Syndicate and University Council overviewed and chaired by the Chancellor.
In pursue of their well orchestrated agenda, items are placed before both the above bodies with half truth, concealed facts and blatant ignorance of UGC guidelines and above all, past decisions taken in the both bodies are ignored and sometimes hidden meaning thereby that officials in the O/o Financial Advisor (Universities) and Chancellor secretariat are taken in a loop by the Jammu University who either keep criminal silence or become part of such moves.
The decision taken in the 110 University Syndicate Meeting Resolution No. 110.65 dated 20.8.2016 for regularizing and absorption of Dr Sandeep Singh, a contractual employee in the university of Jammu is one such example in which decision of same Chancellor taken in a better positioned candidate was concealed from FA (Universities), as well as from Chancellor.
NSF State President Dr. Vikas Sharma also said that, "JU is a premier institution of highest learning in Jammu region which was established for the benefit of people of Jammu. But the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramji Dass Sharma has completely ruined this institution owing to mis-governance and vindictive attitude.
"Ignoring NET/Ph.D candidates to adjust blue-eyed, dissolution of the Resolution of Crime Branch probe in ARs interview cancellation under a well planned strategy by the Vice Chancellor, Evaluation scam in DDE was hushed up, three appointments were made fraudulently against two sanctioned posts, Embezzlement of CM relief Fund, Purchase of Medical Surgery books, Shut down of PG Course in DDE, Illegal order for printing of study material, Diversion of DDE Funds worth 1 crore for other purposes, Blue eyed pursuing PhD without fulfilling eligibility, Fudging of officials documents by DDE teacher, Contract of holding JUET awarded to favourite and etc", these main points highlighted in the complaint, but after lapse of eleven month the complaint is gathering dust in Vigilance Department. Dr Vikas Sharma appealed the Chief Minister as well as Governor of the State who are Pro-Chancellor and Chancellor of Jammu University to constitute a full fledged enquiry committed involving the investigating agencies of the State to look into and probe the irregularities took place during the three years tenure of Prof Ramji Dass Sharma VC to unearth the truth of issues raised by National Secular Forum.
Among those who were present in the protest included Pardeep Sharma, Istaq Naik , Manmohan Singh, Anshu Sharma, Munish Sharma, Pankaj, Arvind, Shivaji Yadav, Nandkishore, Ashif, Vicky Thakur, Manpreet singh and other.
