| Students, parents stage protest demonstration | | | Early Times Report
doda, Mar 27: Students along with parents today staged protest demonstration against administration in front of Deputy Commissioner Office.
As per details, Students along with parents of Malan, Manjmi and Gai villages of Dessa areas of Doda district assembled in Doda town and took out protest against poor education system in Dessa areas.
They raised slogans and block the main road Doda and demanded to full fill the vacant posts and upgrade the school into Higher Secondary. Protesters said, "Our area is deprived of education facility as most of the schools are without staff and students are not able to continue their studies", the protesters said, adding that there are atleast 350 students and only two teachers are present. As per official records, total 8 post was senctioned but instead of that there is only two teacher and one of them is on Attachment. Locals said.
There has been no higher secondary school in Manjmi area despite having large number of students of higher secondary classes. Students are forced to trek several kilometers to reach to higher secondary school.
Protester including students and their parents also met with DC Doda and later he assured them that their demands will be submitted to higher authorities. They also threatened if our demands will not be fulfilled immediately, then we will return back to come on roads. |
