Revenue officials trapped for accepting bribe

Jammu, Apr 5: On the basis of a written complaint lodged by the complainant namely Sudesh Sharma S/O Dharam Chand R/O Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampur, a case under FIR No.09/2018 under section 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act and section 4-A P.C Act (Amendment-2014) was registered in P/S VOJ against the revenue officials namely Lochan Singh (Girdwar & Aneem Sharma (Patwari) Halqa Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampur.
The complainant in his complaint has alleged that he is inhabitant of village Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampaur having land measuring 7 Kanal 18 Marlas under Khasra No.620,623,624 & 621 situated at Mouza Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampur. The complainant has further alleged that he has submitted an application to the Said revenue officials to issue him the Farad of land measuring 10 Marlas under Khsara No.621, but the said officials demanded Rs. One lac & twenty thousand (1,20,000/-) as illegal gratification from him for issuance of the Farad of the land. The complainant has also mentioned in his complaint that he was surprised when the said revenue officials stated that this is their past practice.
The complainant has requested for taking legal action against the said corrupt officials. Accordingly, on the basis of the said complaint/registration of the instant case, a successful trap was laid by the vigilance sleuths under the command of Kamaljeet Singh Dy.SP. During the trap / investigation of the case, Aneem Sharma (Patwari) Halqa Kashirah S/O Hari Krishan Sharma R/O Kalar Udhampur was caught red handed / arrested while demanding and accepting Rs.1,20,000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant. In this connection one Sandeep Khajuria to whom the said Patwari has handed over the bribe money after demanding and accepting the same from the complainant has also been taken into custody by the vigilance sleuths. Further investigation in the case is going on.
