HC seeks status report
4/5/2018 10:19:18 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 5: In a petition filed by Ex-MLA Baldev Sharma seeking direction to transfer the investigation in relation to the FIR registered against Swaran Singh Salaria who allegedly purchased property worth 300cr on fake PRC, from the Local Police Reasi to SSP, Crime Branch Jammu or any other Agency for fair and impartial investigation, Justice Sanjeev Kumar directed Dy.SP, HQ, Reasi to submit the status report with regard to the progress made in the matter before the next date of hearing.
In the petition it has been submitted that no step has been taken by the respondent No.3 and 4 to carry out the further investigation in the case and they also failed to file the Challan against the accused. It is further submitted that till date the inquiry regarding the PRC is pending and the original PRC has not been seized from the private respondent and the private respondent has not been arrested/interrogate till date.
Ex-MLA Baldev Sharma submitted that Reasi Police after concluding the investigation submitted a closure report before the Court. The petitioner claims that he lodged a protest petition before the Court which was accepted and the case was sent back for re-investigation to be conducted by an officer not below the rank of Dy.SP, but the investigating officer was going slow because of the influence of Swaran Singh Salaria.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar issued notice to respondents and directed DySP Hqrs Reasi to submit status report on next date of hearing.
