REASI, Apr 5: A Gynaecology and Mammography camp organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in association with NHPC doctors held today at NHPC Hospital, Jyotipuram.
The camp was thrown open by First Lady of Salal Power Station Vanita Shekhar, wife of Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager of the Station, by lighting the traditional lamp in association with Rakesh Goel, Chief Engineer (Civil) and Dr Raksha Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Vanita Shekhar said that women folk should go for gynaecology check-up periodically in routine. She further said that Mammograms though do not prevent cancer, yet the test can save lives by finding the fatal disease at an early stage when it is treatable, as localised cancers are being removed without resorting to major surgery.
In all 51 patients, including locals were checked-up during the camp and 20 Mammography Tests were done. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients. |
