GGF organizes workshop on UNSDGs

Jammu, Apr 5: The Youth Wing of Gandhi Global Family (GGF) in collaboration with the IQAC Unit of Government P.G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organized a workshop on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) here today.
Principal of College, Dr. Kaushal Smotra who was Chief Guest on the occasion inaugurated the workshop.
Students from various colleges and schools of Jammu division along with the Red Cross and NSS volunteers ofGCW Gandhi Nagar, who have been assigned 17 different UN SDGs along with participated in this pertinent workshop.
Meenakshi Slathia, GGF Youth Women Coordinator, and Ankush Varma, International Officer De MontfortUniversity UK, were the resource persons who elaborated on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals andtheir evolution from the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Earlier Dr. Ashaq Malik, Coordinator of Goal No. 4 of UN SDGs in College introduced the audience about the programme. Prof Surinder Sharma, Coordinator of IQAC and Prof Vishal Sharma from MAM College also spoke on the global goals.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Humaira Amin, Priya Khajuria, Ghulam Khan, Nitin Sharma, Kartika Bakshi, Aditya Gujral, Rohit Khajuria, Waseem Dang. Prof Mala Bhasin,Program Officer of NSS in College, presented the formal vote of thanks where as Meenakshi Slathia conducted the proceeding of the programme.
