Jammu, Apr 7: In a case related to alleged use of substandard material in construction of a school building, the Zonal Education Officer Drabshala had written to In Charge Police post Jawalapur for registration of FIR against the labour supplier of Government Middle School Banjora identified by the concern ZEO as Mohammad Salin son of Lal Din Resident of Nagni for the construction of school building and collapsing of lanter.
The said contractor has already taken the payment from the department for the works executed upto lanter level.
In his communication to to CEO Kishtwar, ZEO Drabshala stated that the under construction building comprises of six components that cost Rs 18.86 lacs which include 3 ACR buildings, boundary wall, toilet 3 units, kitchen shed, CFE and ramp.
He stated that the village Level Education Committee completed the work upto plinth level and thereafter an amount of Rs. 3.70 lacs were released as first instalment.
The ZEO after receiving the communication from in charge CEO Kishtwar deputed Master Masood Ahmed Want and Teacher Sri Kant of GMS Liyan to MS Banjora for verification and submitting the report who stated that the lanter of two rooms of the School building collapsed and also submitted the evidence of the same to ZEO Drabshala.
They also stated that the lanter of another room was partially damaged and hence the building is not safe following which he on 3-4-2018 also visited the school and found that two rooms were damaged while other one is also not safe.
He stated that the VLEC committee passed the resolution where they requested not to lodge an FIR against the labour supplier as he agreed to reconstruct the lanter of the said school building without charging any additional money and asked the CEO Kishtwar to take necessary action in this regard.
He also sought explanation from RRET Houshyar Singh I/C MS Bonjora and JE SSA Sandeep Rana and also withheld the salary of Houshyar Singh for the month of 3/2018 and requested the CEO for withholding the salary of concern JE Sandeep Rana. However it was not confirmed whether the FIR has been registered by the police or not. Despite repeated attempts, I/C police post Jawalapur could not be reached.
