Early Times Report
Anantnag, April 8, 2018: IAS toppers Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan, who on Saturday tied knot, choose Kashmir Valley’s famous tourist resort Pahalgam as their wedding venue.

Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district is a beautiful valley, and the Lidder River running through it makes it even more picturesque. Every year it attracts lakhs of tourists including foreigners.

UPSC 2015 topper Tina Dabi along with her parents and relatives arrived in Pahalgam on Friday evening and got married at ‘Pahalgam Club’ on Saturday.

After wedding ceremony, the couple along with their guests drove to Devepora Mattan-the ancestral village of Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The couple kept their wedding a low key affair, however Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan is all set to throw an extravagant reception for his relatives, friends and others including politicians at his home in Devepora Mattan.

“Politicians, IAS, IPS, KAS, KPS officers and others have been invited by the couple,” Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan’s relative told Early Times.

Back in 2016, IAS topper Tina Dabi had announced through social media site Facebook that she will marry Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan who stood second in the UPSC examination in 2015.

Love blossomed in a very sarkari set-up when the two met at the department of personnel and training (DoPT) office in North Block for a felicitation function on May 11.

"We met in the morning and by evening Aamir was at my door. Uske liye pehli nazar mein pyaar ho gaya (For him, it was love at first sight)", she said. It was August by the time his charm swayed her."But I thank Aamir every day for his perseverance. He is a wonderful person." Dabi was quoted by a New Delhi based newspaper.
