Congress joins protest of Anganwari workers
4/9/2018 11:11:21 PM
Early Times Report
vijaypur, Apr 9: PDP-BJP Government has completely collapsed because they are unable to do work for the welfare of people. "They are exposed before the people. It has become a routine that the Government employees coming on roads to press for their demands because Government don't listen them," alleged Former Minister and Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Party General Secretary (JKPCC) Manjit Singh.
He said that the Government should wake up soon before it is too late and regularize the Anganwari workers. These works have been working from two to three decades in the centres as workers but they are yet to get regularized.
He also appealed Government to regularize Anganwari workers.
Former Minister Manjit Singh was speaking before the protesting Anganwari workers at Vijaypur expressing his concern over the delaying policy of the Government in regularization of Anganwari workers.
"These workers are over burdened with work. They do multiple workers but are giving miserable money on the name of honorarium which is not enough to run a house," Singh alleged, who further said that the Government should seriously look into the justified demands of the Anganwari workers.
He said that the workers are doing the work round the clock without caring for their families, and the Govt which should have taken care of their salaries like other states, doing nothing.
"The protests by Anganwari workers will be intensified in coming month in case the Government will not listen to their demands. They are serving in the Social Welfare Department as back bone and implementing schemes at the ground level yet they are facing discriminatory approach," alleged the former Minister.
"The Government is exploiting the services of Anganwari workers and forcing them to work overtime despite paying them too less as honorarium," he added at the end of his speech.
