Warning singal for BJP as Cong supports bandh call
4/10/2018 11:18:54 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 10: Worried ahead for ruling BJP as opposition Jammu and Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today came out openly in support of the bandh call given by J&K High Court Bar Association on April 11 on various issues. Decision of the Congress to support to Bandh call is warning singal for the BJP because Congress leadership has decided to hijack burning issues of Jammu.
Credible sources in the Congress said that decision to support bandh call was taken after through discussions. After deliberations, Congress leadership realized that it is appropriate time to hit BJP with fulfil force.
According to official handout issued by the Congress, JKPCC has said that present opportunist alliance is a threat to the social and religious harmony of the state especially in Jammu region because of their controversial decisions and opposite stand on each sensitive issue for vested political interests and the bandh call vindicates our stand and exposes their dual and opportunist stand especially of BJP.
Reacting to the situation rising out of the ongoing agitation spearheaded by the Bar Association Jammu, Congress has termed the unrest and Bandh Call as a result of failure of the present coalition especially BJP which had got the mandate in Jammu region.
It is not only the utter failure of the BJP but its politics of exploitation and opportunism which is getting exposed with each passing day. The PDP and BJP are posturing to their respective constituencies, while sharing power also and taking highly controversial decisions and contradictory stands posing great threat to the age old social and religious harmony in the state especially Jammu region.
Since the present bandh call exposes the fragility of the opportunist alliance especially the BJP, the congress has extended its full support in principle with its views on issues.
JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma while questioning BJP to clear the stand of the State government of which it is equal partner and also steps taken by the Modi government for around four years of power, over the issue of Rohingiyas and Bangladeshis, he said BJP cannot hide from public that it does not want to annoy its coalition partner and just passing on the buck to others.
He rubbished the false, baseless and politically motivated charges of BJP against Congress over the issue of Rohingiyas and Bangladeshis, who have been hounded out of their country and have infiltrated into various parts of the country including state over a long period of time.
Similarly on the issues of controversial minutes, he said that this is the great disservice of the present government especially Tribal Affairs Department to the age old traditional harmony in the state especially in Jammu region as the communities have lived in peace and complete harmony since long.
The BJP after having created much hype over the issue, announced to get the same rescinded but after about two months it failed to settle the issue. Any encroacher should be dealt in accordance with the law irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion but without any prejudices or selectively basis, he added
On the issue of the rape and murder of a minor girl, congress chief spokesperson has termed it as a most 'heinous' and 'shameful act' and that the guilty should be dealt sternly under law and awarded exemplary punishment.
The party has time and again said from very beginning that there can't be any leniency with the culprits but again it was the duty of the coalition government to ensure a credible investigation so that the common people have full faith in the investigation.
The BJP ministers and leaders had openly supported the demand of agitators for CBI enquiry, as such again it is the coalition government which is responsible for the present mess on the issue. Taking exception to the reports that some lawyers allegedly obstructed the course of law, he termed the same as unfortunate as it has sent wrong message.
