Poonch, "Swachhta Hi Sewa" clean India week has been started in border Poonch district too. According to sources, deputy commissioner Poonch Mohd Aijaz Asad has opened the campaign from district bus stand Poonch which seems only an eyewash.
Locals have alleged that Poonch municipality was already doing similar activities to embezzle funds in the name of cleanliness.
Wali Mohd Sheikh, a local said "the campaign has been started from bus stand Poonch, where a large number of garbage is found".
If the sitting deputy commissioner is doing these type of acts, what other officers will do? local questioned. They have appealed to chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to take strict action against the erring officers.
Locals have further demanded investigation into funds released for programs under this campaign. |
