Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 22: An outgoing senior official of the department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums has reportedly kept the official vehicle with him for 18 days, after his retirement from the department. Moreover, over half a dozen employees, appointed through backdoor channels, during his last leg in the department have been knocking the doors for their joining.
Sources informed Early Times that though the said official had attained superannuation on March 31st, but he didn't hand over the official vehicle, which was with him for next many days. "As per laid down procedure the official has to hand over the vehicle to the department on the day he attained superannuation but in this case, the official didn't hand over the vehicle", sources said.
Sources further said that there were reports that the official was knocking doors of politicians for getting extension of his services. "He had even gone to New Delhi and had also finalized a deal with a local politician to get extension in the department. He had managed to get his name cleared for the probable candidates for the coveted post but objections were raised over his name", sources said, adding that probably, he was hoping that his name would be cleared for extension, so he didn't leave the vehicle.
Moreover, sources said that over half a dozen employees were also engaged by the official before he left the department. "These employees were engaged through backdoor channels without any advertisement, interview for the posts. But before their official joining in the department, the official who had appointed them for the posts, retired", sources said.
Sources further divulged that for the last many days, these employees have been knocking the doors of several officials to officially join the department. "These employees had got their engagements in the department after giving some money to the official", sources said, adding that the official has been assuring these employees that he would definitely get extension and would get their joined the department.
