BJP's double standards exposed
In Bihar Giriraj Singh terms Kathua case as conspiracy to defame Hindus
4/23/2018 12:03:34 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 22: The double standards of Bharatiya Janata Party to seek CBI probe into the Kathua case have proved that party leaders are a "confused lot" and have no consistent stand.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP Ministers have been stating that CBI probe into the case cannot be ordered, while on other hand BJP leaders and ministers across the country are creating a notion that they support the demand for the CBI probe.
Union minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh while speaking at a function at Nawada Bihar termed Kathua rape and murder as "part of sinister political game plan" to defame Hindus..
"A conspiracy has been hatched to defame Hindus using the Kathua case. Some people with vested political interests are conspiring to divide the country. Now a fresh attempt is being made to defame Hindus through the Kathua case," Singh said.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Choudary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga were forced to resign from the council of ministers for airing the same views."
He said Giriraj Singh, who is the union minister, minced no words to claim that Hindus are being defamed. "If he can say that Hindus are being defamed in Bihar why can't the BJP leaders say the same thing in Jammu," the analyst added.
A Kashmir watcher said, "It seems BJP leaders in Jammu don't want to annoy the Kashmir centric leaders, especially its ally Peoples Democratic Party. The PDP remained adamant and did not handover the case to the CBI for the probe and the two BJP ministers who supported the demand of the Kathua people were shown the door."
He said, "BJP leaders in J&K seem to be scared of PDP and it looks like that they fear that if they take any stand the PDP would desert them and they would lose power."
An observer said that the union minister Giriraj Singh by stating that conspiracy has been hatched to defame Hindus through Kathua case has tried to address his party's constituency as he knows it very well that if BJP has to win the 2019 Parliamentary polls then it has to ensure that voters of Hindu community are not annoyed. "In Jammu it looks like that BJP has taken for granted that Jammuities have no other option other than voting for the BJP," he said, "BJP leaders should realize that they cannot hoodwink the people of Jammu anymore and need to bear in mind that nothing is permanent in politics."
