Rahul ignores Kulgam sex scandal victim to keep his old ally happy?
Selective outrage to seek justice for women draws flak
5/4/2018 11:33:11 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have caught the "dukthi rag" of the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi by stating that his "outrage has been selective" while seeking justice for the women.
Addressing a rally in Bengaluru the PM Modi took the Congress president Rahul Gandhi head on over his midnight candle light vigil at India Gate last month in protest against Kathua and Unnao rape cases. The PM Modi questioned the Congress' selective outrage. "Where was this outrage when a Dalit girl was assaulted in Bidar?" he asked.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Rahul raised the Kathua and Unnao issues just to target the BJP leaders.
He knew that it's the best way to counter the BJP. Rahul was aware of the fact that people of Kathua are demanding a CBI probe into the incident and BJP leaders are supporting them.
He grabbed the opportunity and hogged the headlines."
He said, "Someone needs to ask Rahul why did he ignore the Kulgam sex scandal victim and why didn't he raise his voice for her. He didn't raise this issue as no one from the BJP was involved. Had any BJP leader been involved in the case Rahul Gandhi would have blown the issue out of proportion."
A Kashmir watcher said that the Jammu and Kashmir government has pushed the case under the carpet allegedly to save the legislator from the ruling party. "Rahul Gandhi by maintaining silence over the issue has kept his party's old ally happy. PM Modi has driven home a point by exposing Rahul's selective outrage, " he added.
It's in place to mention here that the victim girl in February this year had revealed that how she was sexploited by a few police officials and politicians, She had alleged politico-police nexus.
The teenage girl had alleged that many high profile people including politicians and police officers are involved in the scandal.
She had said that she can identify the people who sexually abused her multiple times at a hotel in Jammu. "At first daughter of lady became my friend. One day she took me to her home as she too had stayed at my home earlier. During night, they gave me some pills and an unknown man staying there did whatever he wanted as I felt unconscious. Later I came to know that they have made a video of the whole act," the victim had said.
She had said that the accused lady used to blackmail her at the pretext that she would upload the video on Facebook. "I travelled to Jammu six times. We stayed in a hotel there. Every time lady and her daughter were accompanying me," victim said that it wasn't only she who was being transported to Jammu but there were many other girls as well.
She said that one of the molester, who sexually abused her in the hotel, introduced himself as a police officer. "I can recognize him," she had said.
The victim revealed that she was told by the accused lady to visit a sitting PDP legislator as well.
"She (accused lady) told me to visit ****** Shab but I refused," she added.
Victim's mother had demanded justice and stern punishment to the accused. She had alleged that the accused lady in police station was threatening the family at behest of a PDP legislator.
Meanwhile, Kulgam Police had constituted a Special Investigative Team (SIT) to probe the case. "Case FIR No 27/2018, U/S 363,120B, RPC registered at police station Kulgam but till date SIT has not submitted its report and investigations are going on at a snail's pace.
