Civilian murder mystery solved as Police busts LeT module
4 militants, 6 OGWs arrested

BARAMULLA, May 9: Police today busted a Lashker-e-Toiba module in Baramulla district and arrested 10 people, including four militants who were allegedly responsible for killing of three boys at Baramulla town on April 30.
Briefing the media persons in Baramulla today, the Deputy Inspector General of police (DIG) north Kashmir range, Sunil Gupta said , "on April 30 three youth were killed by local militants of Lashkar-e Toiba (LeT) outfit.
The whole module was being operated by Abu Osama, and it was running from Sopore and Baramulla town, DIG said.
Meanwhile, a police handout said that on April 30 at about 8:35 pm, few unknown armed personnel brutally assassinated three civilians on the roadside who were later identified as Haseeb Nabi Khan S/O Gh Nabi Khan R/O Kakar Hamam Baramulla, Irfan Ahmad Sheikh alias Asif Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ali Mohd Sheikh R/O Syed Kareem Baramulla and Mohd Asgar Sheikh alias Afsar Khan S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh R/O Kakar Hamam Baramulla.
According to investigation the assailants had disappeared towards Drangbal-Hajibal forest area after committing the brutal murder. On the initial tips, searches were carried out in the forest area of Drangbal-Hajibal for nabbing the culprits, said statement.
However, the search party in their measured response tactfully overpowered one militant who received minor injuries in this incident and he was immediately given medical treatment and the hideout in which four militants had been hiding was busted and some arms and ammunition were also recovered.
Statement said that another militants Bilal Ahmad Najar alias Sameer son of Gh Ahmad Najar resident of Banglow Bagh Baramulla was nabbed after joint team of Police, Army and CRPF overpowered him in the vicinity of Banglow Bagh.
After questioning the arrested militant the involvement of outlawed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Toiba was established in this heinous crime involving murder of three innocent civilians on the evening of April 30th.
During investigation, it has surfaced that militants involved in the killings include Suhaib Farooq Akhoon alias Abu Huraira S/O Farooq Ahmad Akhoon resident of Khanpora, Mohsin Mushtaq Bhat alias Shera S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Qazi Hamam Baramulla, Ajaz Ahmad Gojri alias Abu Umair S/O Ab Rehman resident of Jamia Mohalla Baramulla (apprehended) and Bilal Ahmad Najar alias Abu Sameer S/O Ghulam Ahmad Najar resident of Banglow Bagh Baramulla (apprehended).
Investigations reveals that three militants Suhaib Akhoon, Mohsin Mushtaq and Ajaz Gojiri opened fire using AK series rifles while as Bilal Najar used a Chinese pistol to commit the murder of three civilians.
Four active militants of the LeT organization have been apprehended along with 06 other Over Ground Workers (OGWs).
Pertinently multiple raids by Police, Army and CRPF in Sopore and Baramulla areas were launched to bust the terror modules. One kingpin of the module namely Nadeem Ahmad Dar alias Abu Osama resident of Nowpora Kalan Sopore along with Suhaib Akhoon had been the main motivators and commanders of this group.
The recoveries made from the apprehended terrorists and OGWs include 2 AK Rifles , 2 Chinese pustols, 4 hand grenades , AK ammunition 50 rounds, 4 AK Magazines and 2 pistol magazines.
