Jammu, May 9: A retired army jawan allegedly murdered his wife using sharp-edged weapon in Bishnah town before hanging himself with branch of a tree in the same village.
According to the police sources, Kuldeep Singh son of Dewan Singh resident of Makhanpur Charkan village in Bishnah entered into a heated argument with his wife Balwinder Kour over some issue.
"In a fit of rage Singh took up sharp edged weapon (long knife) and attacked his wife in the room," said police sources.
They said that when the victim tried to save herself, he followed her and stabbed repeatedly killing her on the spot. The horrible scene of crime was such that blood was scattered in the lawn, while long knife allegedly used in the murder of the woman was also thrown in the house.
"The accused fled away from the house after committing the crime," said the sources in police department. " Body of the accused army soldier was found hanging from the tree in the field of the same village and it has been shifted to the hospital for legal formalities," sources added.
They said that the bodies of the man and his wife have been shifted autopsy. Police have also registered case at the police station Bishnah. Pertinently, the retired solider, who hanged himself, was also arrested in a rape case. The deceased couple has a son in Indian Army and their daughter is settled abroad. |
