Engaged in laying bases for various projects Modi for restoration of peace in J&K
5/21/2018 11:41:06 PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent time in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on either laying the foundation or inaugurating various development projects that could improve road connectivity and power generation. During laying the foundation of various development projects he seemed to be obsessed with the restoration of peace. And in this connection Modi did suggest to the youth to give up the guns, return to the mainstream and to their parents which was enough to help them in carrying out development of the state. It was a beginning to ensure round the year travel to Ladakh, which otherwise remains cut off for six months of winter when he laid the foundation stone of Rs. 6800 Zojila tunnel project situated at a height of 12000 feet that will connect Gumri area in Kargil with Sonamarg. And the beauty of the tunnel is to allow Ladakh to remain accessible even during heavy snowfall in the winter months. Imagine the centre-state relations which have assumed a new dimensions with Modi clearing projects worth Rs. 25,000 crores. Modi also opened couple of project aimed to facilitating march on foot by the pilgrims to Vaishno Devi. He also inaugurated work on Pakul Dal 1,000 MW power project in Kishtwar and 330MW Kishenganga hydroelectric project.
During these foundation laying ceremony or opening of path-breaking projects Modi had not forgotten restoration of peace to Jammu and Kashmir. In this context he suggested to the misguided youth to return to the mainstream. He reminded them that the centre had introduced unilateral ceasefire and granted amnesty to stone throwing youth to promote peace and liberate people of their inconvenience during the search operations by allowing the youth to join the mainstream. That way the youth could help the state, which passes through the phase of difficulties and severe economic problems, to come of the poverty level and promote peace which could guarantee prosperity and progress. He assured the sate of central Government help to promote energy that could facilitate growth in the sector of industry.
and even in the face of pushing up development people still resorted to shutdowns to register their anger against Modi to be accurate against the centre. This hartal seemed an expression of peoples' disinterest in development because they had been told to follow instructions given by separatists who thrive on violence because once peace is established their relevance and importance get lost. But Modi is not willing to give up his search for peace in Kashmir. Whether he ie able to change the economic story of the state because the state has been banking on tourism which has been replaced by pilgrim tourist traffic since the rise of Pakistan sponsored militancy. Modi knows it and that is why he is trying to generate the support of the youth in turning the tide of terror against Pakistan.
