Jammu, May 23: Environment Awareness Forum took strong exception for using scare government money , procured from the exchequers on banners and other publicity material costing lakhs of rupees to promote Rajiv Jasrotia, Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology Jammu and Kashmir Government on the Biodiversity Day at Kathua.
The function was organized by J&K State Bio-Diversity Board. Function could have been held by the Minster in Kashmir as Secretariat is functioning these days beside it would have been cost effective after al money used is of public. Moreover every wing of Forests should have celebrated this day far and wide deep to Range or beat level for awareness and cooperation. It is the day to be celebrated by the public whose stakes rest on it. Kathua has been made for some years Mecca of the forest Ministry. Records shows deforestation has been carried vandalism runs the writ with the department under PDP,BJP combine forests rests with BJP patronage. As such are answerable to public. But it alleged has been promoted by Manoj Pant PCCF , Ravi Kesar Chief Wildlife Warden , Suresh Chug, Chairman MD State Forest Corporation , V. Sidharth Pollution Control Board , PK Singh Director Soil and Water Conservation , AK Gupta, Director Social Forestry BM Sharma Director SFRI along with Conservators, DFOs, senior officers of the department. |
