Early Times Report

Jammu, May 23: The administration of Autonomous Government Degree College Parade has been showing utter disdain to the secrecy of examination, which got exposed on May 8, when an old question paper was given to the students and later both the exams were cancelled.
Students of B.Com Part-II, who had been declared re appear in Environmental Sciences, informed Early Times that on May 8 they appeared again in the examination of the said subject.
"Nearly one hour after examination started, it was found that the question paper was an old one, which was given to the students of Part-II Annual on May 2 in the same college", a student said, adding that in haste, the invigilating staff changed the question paper in some examination centres, whereas in some other centres it was not changed.
Students further informed that few days back the college administration issued a notice informing that the examination of EVS stood cancelled and the re-examination would be held on May 26. "Even the students who had appeared on May 2, their examination was also cancelled", a student rued.
An official of college informed that though it was a major mistake on part of secrecy, so far no enquiry has been initiated to fix the responsibility for such a major secrecy lap and the issue has been put under carpet by the autonomous administration.
Sources further alleged that the secrecy of examination was a fraud. "The question papers are not printed, but two retired employees of the university have been kept by college administration who typed the question papers inside the college and later photostat copies of the question papers are distributed among the students", sources alleged, adding that even some papers started after one hour late and the examination of Chemistry had started at 11 am, whereas it was scheduled to start at 10 am.
Sources further alleged that the results of the examination of semester 1st and 3rd, which were held in the month of December were still pending. "The education and studies are not the priority of the administration and every secrecy clause has been thrown into dustbin", sources said.
Commissioner Secretary of Higher Education Department Mohammad Javed Khan said he would look into the matter and take proper action.
