MLA releases school magazine "Prayas" at GHSS Garhi

UDHAMPUR, MAY 23: Government Higher Secondary, School (GHSS) Garhi today released first ever magazine of the school "Prayas" at a simple but impressive function organized in the school premises.
Member Legislative Assembly, Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who formally released the magazine.
In his address, the MLA congratulated the Principal and his team for bringing out a school magazine. Gupta said that such initiative would go a long way to draw out and encourage the literary and artistic instincts of the students. He said that besides academics these extra co curricular activities are very important for the overall development of the students. He said these types of steps are really helpful in raising the standard of government schools and provide an opportunity to students to express themselves effectively and freely.
A colorful cultural programme was also presented by the students of the institution.
During the programme, the meritorious students of 2017-18 academic session were also awarded.
Earlier, Sunil Sharma welcomed all the guests and gave a brief description of the magazine.
Among others present were CEO Katra Development Authority, Dr. Jagdish Mehra, Col. Balwant, Principals of various schools, besides a number of prominent civil society members ofGarhi and Udhampur
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ranjana Bhagat Lecturer in I.P. The editor of the Magazine Renu Sharma presented the vote of Thanks.
