USTA discusses teaching community issues

Jammu, June 3: J & K United School Teachers Association (USTA) held meeting to focus on the long pending demand of teaching community under chairmanship of Hari Singh- Provincial President, Rajeev Kumar- General Secretary and Roop Chand- District President at Kathua.
While speaking on the occasion they stressed upon the government to release the long pending salary and other DA arrears of teachers/ masters working under SSA and RMSA schemes at an earliest. They further stressed upon the government to delink the salary under these schemes from central budget and release it under state budget on monthly basis. They also appealed to the government to strengthen the public education system by providing proper infrastructure and staff to under-staff schools, fill vacant posts of headmasters, ZEOs and lecturers by way of DPC, regularise all lecturers, headmasters and ZEOs who are working in their own pay and grade, transfer masters and lecturers suitably who have completed their tenure in far flung areas, debar teachers from non academic duties. They further appealed to the government not to stop the increments of teachers/ masters for low pass percentage keeping in view the non- detention policy up to class 9th, insufficient staff and subject teachers especially in rural area schools. USTA appeals to the authorities to concede the demands at an earliest otherwise USTA will be compelled to resort to agitation path and hold strong protest in third week of June.
