Early Times Report

Jammu, June 3: The Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu (JU), whose tenure has been completed and continuing merely as caretaker, is still indulging in cheap activities and trying to exploit his position to maximum extent.
The recent in the line is illegally managed approval to the proposal of introducing Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship on self-financing basis in Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). The approval was made by the Academic Council meet which held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof Ramji Dass Sharma.
Sources revealed that Vice Chancellor intends to adjust his relative as teacher in DDE and for the purpose he collaborated with DDE Director Prof Darshana Sharma (who is also a relative of Vice Chancellor) and mooted the proposal to start PG Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship.
"The teaching post thus created will serve as launching pad for the relative of Vice Chancellor. Notably, the said person is already a contractual teacher in DDE but the post is likely to cease as there is no need of the same. The post was specially created for the relative of Vice Chancellor. And, since the Vice Chancellor is also near to exit he wants to make sure that his relative, who is contractual teacher, shall not suffer in future so he creating permanent post through introduction of PG Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship," sources revealed.
Sources further said that during the tenure of this Vice Chancellor, several courses including MA Political Science, M A Economics, B.Ed were arbitrarily closed and no efforts were made to revive them despite large hue and cry of students. "Instead of reviving the courses which were closed, the Vice Chancellor developed a liking for introduction of in PG Diploma Business Entrepreneurship that too during the last days on his position," sourced told.
The Director DDE, Prof Darshana Sharma, who is also a big failure in running the administration, fall in line with the Vice Chancellor so as to hide her long list of failures. "The Director blindly followed the illegal directions of the Vice Chancellor with utmost sincerity. Under rule, the PG Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship cannot be introduced in DDE as permission is granted only to those PG Diploma courses which are running in regular departments. In the past also, proposal for introduction of two PG Diploma courses was mooted but the University authorities refused the permission for the same. But, this time the Vice Chancellor led Academic Council gave a prompt approval just because he was personally behind the same, " sources disclosed.
