Patwari's Strike enters 22nd day

UDHAMPUR, June 4: Patwari Strike enters 22nd da, as the Government failed to address the problems of the Patwaris due to which the work of Revenue Department got affected from last 22 days as the Patwri on Strike.
Large Number of Patwaris of District Udhampur sat on dharna and protest in favour of their demands. The strike is continuing under the leadership of Provincial Publicity Secretary Ghulam Mohammad, Lochan Singh Distt. President, Shakil Mohd. Distt. Vice- President, Rakesh Kumar District General Secretary, Onkar Singh Tehsil President, Wasim Ahmed Tehsil Vice-President, Rakesh Sharma General Secretary, Surjeet Kumar Joint Secretary, Pankaj Gupta Accountant, and Vikas Gupta Cashier. Addressing the strike, members of AJKPA Udhampur Onkar Singh, Sandhor Singh addressing the Media said that Government is not showing any seriousness in resolving their issues.
They demanded grade pay of graduate Patwaris from Rs 2,400 to Rs 2,800, timely DPC, creation of Patwar Halqas and GQ Circles, enhancement of allowances, rent for Patwar Khanas (Private Accommodation) till construction of Patwar Khanas, etc. Protestor warned the government to resolve their issues at the earliest. Local said that due to the strike the people are facing lot of problems, especially on account of state subject certificates (PRC), category certificates and other documents or information related to the land records or revenue documents. He said the ongoing strike has paralyzed the working of the Revenue Department at ground zero, putting the common people to inconvenience.
