Udhampur, June 4 : Land mafia is on the prowl in Udhampur district with allotted land being put on sale with the active connivance of the revenue officials who are bending backwards to facilitate illegal deals of the notorious mafia. The property dealers are making filthy money in udhampur by befooling the common masses and the unholy nexus of these dealers and the revenue official are busy selling allotted land to the people at exorbitant rates ranging from 3 to 6 lakhs per marla. Early Times discovered that many allottees of the government land were selling their land illegally through property dealers and revenue officials instead of checking this illegal sale were facilitating the same for a handsome cut. The sales deeds are affected through notaries without proper stamp duties and documentation. Those looking for genuine deals have rued that this nexus has illegally raised the prices of land beyond genuine costs and emphasized that the senior officers of the revenue department should wake up to this illegality and take action against their own officials. |
