Jammu, June 4: The recent order of Planning, Development and Monitoring Department for promotion of 19 Joint Directors as Directors of J&K Economics and Statistics (Gazetted) Service has drawn flak as few promotees were given unjustified favour while an OSD to a minister also got special benefits.
Sources told Early Times that as per the order, the promotees have been given notionally effect from 27-12-2017 and financial benefits from 11-04-2017. But in one such case where two persons hailing from Jammu region, whose date of regular promotion has been mentioned as 27-12-2017, got financial benefits from 11-04-2018. But simultaneously two other persons who were also given charge of incharge Director in 17-06-2017 along with them were given notionally benefit from June 17, 2017.
"Notionally effect means that year of service will be treated from 27-12.2017 and financially benefit will be given from April 2018," the sources said.
In another case an officer appeared in the order who retired last year on 31-12-2017 and presently is an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to a Cabinet Minister. He got his salary fixed from 27-12-2017 and got benefit from April 2018 due to influence of the minister and was granted one time exception through cabinet meeting, the sources said.
"His position of OSD to Minister, despite his retirement, has remained in questioned, but he continued to stay on the job fearlessly and got special benefits in this promotion order due to the blessings of the Minister," the sources said.
They said the disgruntled promotees who have been deprived of their due benefits are likely to move to court for justice. |
