Pensioners rue official apathy, seek release of pension 6/4/2018 11:34:28 PM MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, June 04: Pensioners of various categories including handicapped, old age and widows have rued official apathy for not releasing their pensioner dues for the last several months putting them to hardships. In the subdivision of Mendhar Surankote and Poonch, sources said here today Source said the pensioners of various categories have been running from pillar to post for release of pension which has not been released for the last several months by the social welfare department for the reason best known to them. The pensioners said as the Eid festival was coming closer and we are hopeful that our dues will be released before it. It is pertinent to mention here that there were 21611 pensioners in the district including handicapped, old aged and widows besides 6929 cases under NSAP and other cases who get their pension on from social welfare department went for the last few months their pension dues were not paid due to unknown reasons There were ten thousand new pension cases pending which need only sanction of the concerned department sources said the files of cases of fresh pensioners were biting dust on the government offices souce said Meanwhile, district social welfare officer Poonch, Naima Bhatti where contacted told Early Times that we had not received the funds as yet to release the pension dues of pensioners went our efforts are on to release the pension to beneficiaries before the eid festival so far as new pension cases are concerned the grant is awaited from the concerned authorities and as soon as it is conceded we will do the neddful, Naima added Pensioners in a joint appeal have urged the district authorities to release their dues before the eid festival as they have been going through constant financial crises, they added   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
