| Landslides at Tringriya affect normal life in Block Ghordi | | Authorities fail to remove debris from road | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 3:The vital link road between Udhampur and Ghordi is closed for the last five days due to landslides at Tringriya area triggered by heavy rainfall. The concerned authorities even after five days have failed to remove the debris from the road due to which the common masses are worst sufferers.
The population of Block Ghordi is about 65000 and 27 big as well as small villages are totally dependent on Ghordi-Udhampur road. With the closure of the road, the general public has no other option but to travel on foot for at least four kilometresw and cross a huge nallah to evade the risky landslide area.
Though the vehicular traffic has been diverted to other route of Ghordi-Ramnagar-Udhampur route but the said route is too far thereby causing discomfort for the locals. Several government employees deputed in the area are facing lots of problems to reach their offices due to the blockageof road. |
