| For 20 years, gardener illegally works as Junior Assistant in Social Forestry | | Officials seek Raj Bhawan's intervention | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 3: In brazen violation of norms, a Junior Maali or Junior Gardener, has been illegally elevated to work as Junior Assistant in the Social Welfare Department here.
Sources said some twenty years ago, this "influential" employee was elevated as Junior Assistant and continues to be posted at the same chair though he is "technically misfit for the job."
Officials said as per SRO the junior maali cannot be elevated as junior assistant but can be given posts like that of guard. "In his case however rules were brazenly flouted," the officials said.
They said over the years the "influential employee" has been greasing the palms of some senior officials to be at the "lucrative post."
"Through the said post he (junior maali) fraudulently helps his masters," the sources said.
Despite repeated attempts the employee in question couldn't be contacted for comments.
But a senior official while confirming the "fraud" said there was a need for vigilance probe. "Let the Raj Bhawan call for a probe into the matter." |
