Sunderbani, July 18: Having enjoyed their prime postings in Pradhan Mantri Gram Seva Yojna (PMGSY) for last one decade, two high profile engineers in the department are still carrying out the works under their own whims and fancies.
At district Rajouri, tehsil Sunderbani, an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) posted under the scheme of PMGSY is still occupying his place of posting for last six to eight years while as per the government rule book not a single government employee can carry on with one posting at one place for more than two years.
Sources in the department disclosed that the particular AEE who enjoyed the patronage of erstwhile Public Works Department (PWD) minister in the PDP-BJP government is still posted in the department. Along with this AEE is his subordinate Junior Engineer (JE) who too is in equal share of loot in PMGSY. He is also in his own place of posting for last 10 years.
The people of the area allege that since both the engineers enjoyed the patronage of former minister in the coalition government and exercised control over all the works of PMGSY, no higher authority ever risked framing any complaint or charge against both.
"Now since it is Governor's Rule and the worthy Governor is taking measures to clean the system, he should take cognizance of two engineers' wrongdoings so that people could be relived of the fiefdom of the duo," said a local at Sunderbani. |
