Early Times Report
jammu, July 29: Expressing serious concern over deaths of two youths due to suspected drug overdose in Jagti belt, 12 kms from here, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal on Sunday lashed out at Pakistan for pumping in drugs through drug mafia with sinister designs to exploit our youth.
"As per unconfirmed reports, two of our youths have allegedly died due to drug overdose in less than 10 days in the past one month in Jammu district and the matter is of grave concern," Zorawar Singh Jamwal said while addressing a huge gathering at Jagti Township in Nagrota this morning at awareness camp organized by Team Jammu on drug abuse. The function was jointly organized by local youth of Nagrota belt and youth of Jagti.
SSP Rural Dushyant Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
While presiding over the function, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said, "Though the matter about deaths due to drug overdose has not been reported but it is concerning and alarming as well."
"Pakistan is playing the dirty game of exploiting our youth not only by handing over guns to them but also by pumping in drugs through its mafia and make them addicts," he alleged and said that Pakistan is a coward nation and by indulging into such acts, it has proved it.
"Police undoubtedly doing a great job by seizing contrabands of drugs worth multi-crore being smuggled outside the state but the sad affair is that the big fishes, who are running the trade are still at large and succeeding in their nefarious designs," pointed out Zorawar Singh Jamwal.
Jamwal also welcomed some of the social and political organizations, who after around a period of four years when Team Jammu blew bugle against drug abuse, have finally woken and joined hands in united fight led by Team Jammu for the cause in the interest and welfare of the society.
Meanwhile, Team Jammu rewarded Ankiya Bhgati, Megha Pandit (11th Class students), Bhavika Bhat (12th Class) with cash prizes for their address over the ill effects of rug abuse.
