PDD employees call on Comm/Secy, ask to revisit privatization plan

JAMMU, Sept 30: The employees of Power Development Department (PDD) called on Hridesh Kumar, Commissioner Secretary to Government, PDD here today on the move of the government to initiate the process of privatization of the department and non-drawl of salary of TLMD Udhampur employees.
The employees led by the Coordination Committee leaders Er Jagdish Rathore, Er Jaipal Sharma, President DEA, Er Sachin Tickoo, Convener of the Coordination Committee, Er Sushma Parihar, genral secretary FOJE, Ajaz Kazmi, general secretary PPEU, Sanjeev Bali president PPEU, Balbir Singh, President, Draftsmen Association and others raised strongly the service issues arising out of non-transparency in the privatization process.
The coordination committee brought to the notice of the Commissioner Secretary about the various issues in the initialization of TRADECO and the SRO 396 dated: September 11, 2018 which has to be rectified in order to safeguard the employees' interests. The members raised the issue of transfer of sanctioned strength of 100 posts out of PDD into TRADECO and fallouts of this pocess. Secondly the Government needs to assure on the terminal benefits like Gratuity, Pension, DA, medical benefits and annual increments accruing to a government servant shall be paid on immediate basis at par with the other regular government departments.
Employees Coordinat-ion Committee asked for revisiting the decision to privatize the department and constitute a committee comprising of technical officers and employees representatives and the administrative department which will critically examine the fall out reforms that have been taken up in the other states.
The non-drawl of salary for all categories of employees of TLMD-Udhampur since last five months was strongly pursued with the Commissioner Secretary and it was informed that the agitating employees along with their families otherwise will be forced to come on streets, also power supply will be disrupted in various districts if salary is not released in the ensuing week by October 6 and responsibility of such outage shall be solely lying on the government.
The Commissioner Secretary PDD gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that the SRO issued to operationalize TRADECO will be properly examined and all stake holders including employee coordination committee shall be involved in order to arrive at a consensus.
